What are your thoughts on the black and green duo? I like it, when done tastefully, of course. Lately, the dark hues have been a pretty huge interest for me, and I have to say that: yes, I find it to be nice. Also, the bowls that are pictured are kind of cool, love that they have a place for chopsticks.

I have covered black & gold and now it is time for white & gold. These two make for a pretty interesting pairing. As far as white is concerned, it's associated with purity and tranquility. And gold is seen as rich, classy and sophisticated, so using the two blended together in home decor is pretty interesting.
While browsing a variety of sites I have come across some nice looking items, which I hope you enjoy.

Today, color lover Lou gives us a look at her magnificent Green and Purple wedding.

I am not really sure what inspired me to choose purple & green for my wedding? Being the arty type I am always drawn to complimentary colours and I guess I knew that I wanted my wedding to stand out from the crowd! The wedding took place in a 14th century barn in Norfolk, the perfect setting for an informal affair.

We made leaf candle holders for the tables, used jam jars and suspended them from the ceiling. I also used lots of hessian, ivy and purple and green raffia. My Dad & husband made the cakes, which I iced, the florist than added the flowers. The cupcakes were made by my friend, the chocolate looked superb with the purple flowers and lime green foliage.

I always think it is quiet amazing how many varieties of great colors and color combinations there are to view and talk about. Today is about black and gold. Both bold, sexy and rich, when combined it is just that much more sweeter. I have to say, I am rather fond of the ottoman and gun throw pillows. Love them!

Fiestaware (Fiesta® Dinnerware) has been brightening up dinner tables since they first introduced their color saturated dinnerware, during the drab days of the depression. Created by the Homer Laughlin China Company of Newell, West Virginia, since 1936 (with a hiatus from 1973 to 1985), Fiestaware was started "with the intent of giving people who were having a real miserable time something that wasn't expensive, that could brighten up their table, make their live a little cheerier," says president Joe Wells III in an quote from a recent article in the Oregonian, and they did it using color.
Fiestaware's signature solid colored Art Deco style was designed by Frederick Hurten Rhead, and first launched in a brilliant red.

We all have seen hints of the 80's sprinkled here and there throughout the design world, right? With the 80's in mind, I had to go with pink and black, and not just any pinks, but rich, bold pinks.
I must admit that I have been watching commercials from this totally rad decade and pretty much miss how fun and bold everything was. So, here are the
colors black and pink used in home decor items.
What do you think?

I have been inspired by all of the grays and greens that I have been seeing an awful lot of lately, and felt that it would be suitable to dedicate a post to the fabulous duo. I have mentioned before that green is one of my absolute favorite colors, so there is another excuse. As in the examples shown, a soft to medium green against a soft or charcoal gray works wonderfully together, producing a very soothing and hip feel.
Do you like green and gray together?
